Quincy Symphony Orchestra Association recently announced their 10th annual raffle

The Quincy Symphony Orchestra Association recently announced their 10th annual raffle. The raffle is a fundraising project, with proceeds going directly to support concerts offered by QSOA to the community.

The first place ticket will win $1,000, with a second place winner earning two round trip tickets on Cape Air and a third place winner earning two season tickets for the 2015-16 season. Tickets for the raffle are $10 each, or 12 tickets for $100, and can be purchased from any member of the orchestra or chorus. Members of the QSOA board will also engage in a direct sales effort, with a goal of raising $10,000 for the QSOA season. The drawing will be held at the 2014-2015 season finale concert, “Pines of Rome”, to be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 18 at QJHS Morrison Theater. An early-bird drawing with a $250 prize will be held during the Quincy Symphony Chorus Concert at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, March 7.

“This is an exciting time for the Quincy Symphony Orchestra Association,” said board President Alan Steigelman. “The Quincy community has enthusiastically embraced the symphony in recognition of six decades of contribution to our area’s artistic heritage. Our attendance has continually grown and our Music Director Bruce Briney was recently honored with the “Conductor of the Year” award by the Illinois Council of Orchestras,” Steigelman said. “We also continue to have underwriting contributions from a wide-range of generous supporters. For a community of this size to even have a symphony is remarkable, and it is very gratifying to have the kind of civic involvement and support that we have.”

The QSOA, led by conductor Bruce Briney, is celebrating its 67th season, entitled Creative Legacy. For more information, call the symphony office at 222-2856 or visit www.qsoa.org.
