Quincy Symphony Orchestra Announces Concert Changes

Following mandates issued by Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker and guidance by the Adams County Health Department, in an effort to limit community transmission of COVID-19, the Quincy Symphony Orchestra Association (QSOA) announced the following changes to their 2020 concert schedule.

The Quincy Area Youth Orchestra Concert on March 22 has been postponed to a later date.
The Quincy Symphony Orchestra’s free In-School Concerts on March 27 have been cancelled and will not be rescheduled this season.
The Quincy Area Youth Chorus Spring Concert on April 6 has been postponed to a later date.
The April 24 “Natural Wonders” Season Finale Concert with the Quincy Symphony Orchestra, Chorus, Youth Chorus, JWCC & QU Choirs has been postponed.
With over 70 years of commitment to the Gem City, the Quincy Symphony Orchestra Association cares deeply for the health and safety of its musicians, staff, and community.

“Although these are difficult decisions, it is our responsibility to follow the recommendations of our public health officials to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID–19 and to protect the QSOA family and our community from the wider spread of this virus” said Jane Polett, QSOA General Manager.

The QSOA hopes to fulfil their remaining ticketed event, Natural Wonders, at a later date and honor all season and single tickets at that time.  Patrons who are unable to attend the concert after the new date is announced are encouraged to donate their ticket back to the Symphony, give it away to a friend, or exchange it for an upcoming concert in the 2020-21 season. Ticket holders will be advised in the event that the concert is not able to be rescheduled. For more information contact the QSOA office at 217-222-2856.
