Toni Taylor – Tiger Imagery
Toni Taylor was born and raised in Quincy. She has one brother and two half-brothers. As a child, Toni showed some artistic talent but didn’t set any artistic goals.
She attended Quincy Public Schools and graduated from QHS. She received an Associate’s Degree in Law Enforcement from JWCC and joined the Quincy Police Department as a Patrolman in 1988. She worked as a Quincy police officer for just over 9 years and then decided to make some career changes.
In 2000, Toni moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she lived for 6 years. During her time in Tulsa, Toni attended classes at the University of Tulsa studying Mechanical Engineering. She worked for the City of Tulsa for a short time and then for The Crosby Group as a lab technician. Although she enjoyed Tulsa, Toni ultimately moved back home to Quincy in 2006.
In 2010 Toni was attending a Lonestar concert at the Adams County Fair. Wanting photographs, she tried using her phone but was disappointed in the results. A short time later she purchased a point-and-shoot camera to improve her pictures. Toni received numerous compliments from family and friends after taking pictures at a cousin’s wedding reception. Curious if others would feel the same way, she began posting her pictures on Facebook. The support she received was overwhelming. Now, 14 years later, Tiger Imagery’s Facebook page has thousands of followers, and her photographs can be seen in businesses, hospitals, clinics, and private homes in Quincy and throughout the United States. There are even a few abroad.
Toni has had the opportunity to do portraits and weddings but is happiest taking landscape pictures. She finds it relaxing to be in nature, enjoying light and color, and photographing what catches her eye. Wildlife photography is also a favorite when the opportunity arises. She is frequently asked how she came up with the name Tiger Imagery. With the name Toni, she was called Toni the Tiger or some form of Tiger her whole life. Then she picked out a word to go with Tiger that meant pictures that was a good fit.
Toni has a full-time job outside of photography. For the past 15 years she has been working for WisPak in Quincy and has worn many hats during her time there. She currently works in production. If you go to the plant manager’s office at WisPak you will find a Tiger Imagery picture of the Pepsi clock at 12th and Locust hanging on the wall.
In the not-so-distant future, Toni will be able to retire from WisPak, and she is looking forward to spending more time working on her photography.
