Renee Blunier, Oboe
A junior at Warsaw High School, Renee Blunier is the identical twin to Kaylee Blunier and daughter of Joe and Karen Blunier. She has been playing oboe for 8 years and plans to play it for many more. Renee has studied with many teachers, including Alan Kanauss, Paul Chinen, Cody Collins, Lora Launer, Karen Weirather, and piano accompanist Joni Wilson. She has been a member of the Quincy Area Youth Orchestra for 4 years, is a two-year member of the ILMEA All-State Orchestra, and is the winner of the 2023 Marilyn Minford McCoid Young Artist Competition of the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra. She will perform as a soloist with them this spring. She has also participated in the IGSMA Solo and Ensemble Contest with Superior rankings and a Best of The Day award. Renee plans to attend Western Illinois University to major in Music Performance to fulfill her dreams of playing oboe forever.
