QAYO Spring 2025 Concert

The Quincy Area Youth Orchestra presents its Spring Concert at 7 p.m. Monday, March 31, at Baldwin School, 30th & Maine streets. Under the direction of Dr. Rich Cangro, the orchestra will perform lively and dramatic selections including Blue Tango by Leroy Anderson, Magnificent Seven by Bernstein/Philippe, two movements from The Firebird Suite by Stravinsky and the energetic Service Dogs March by J.C. Sherman which honors the work and sacrifice of canines. Local working service dogs will march in during the performance.

Admission to the concert is free with donations encouraged.

The 2024-25 QAYO comprises 35 talented musicians from the tri-state area. Each of the members was selected for the orchestra based on auditions held in October. The student musicians come together weekly for rehearsals. Their first performance was Feb. 8 when they joined the Quincy Symphony Orchestra side-by-side for Danza Del Sol by Kevin Day.
